"Heavyweight" was written by Loud Love Guitarist Vincent Marone in 2017. As a member of a band called The Boardwalk Kings, Vinny fleshed out the fledgling song (then known as "Aerotallica") with his former bandmates. Boardwalk Kings bassist Pete Samulis added a critical part of the song that still exists in its current iteration.
Fast forward to 2020, and Loud Love was beginning to take shape. Before being asked to officially join the band, Vinny tapped Singer and Guitarist Shannon Nicholas to craft fresh lyrics and melodies for the song after it had been stripped back to its original form.
Shannon's performance was everything Vinny had hoped it would be and more. The lyrics (co-penned by Shannon and her husband Cody Simmons), along with her fiery vocal delivery, took the song once known as "Aerotallica" to the next level - transforming it into the juggernaut now known as "Heavyweight".
After spending some time in the skilled hands of Engineer Matt Weber at Gradwell House Studio, Vinny cut a fund video together for the song using footage of pro wrestling superstar Thunder Rosa. The goal was to team Loud Love - fronted by a passionate and motivated woman - with a wrestling promotion run by a like-minded and equally passionate and motivated woman.
It was a shot in the dark, but the shot landed! Thunder Rosa saw the video and, after a few conversations with Loud Love, a partnership was born!
Heavyweight is now the OFFICIAL THEME SONG for Thunder Rosa's all-women's wrestling league, Mission Pro Wrestling.
Loud Love is so proud to be given an opportunity to represent an athletic league devoted to giving women a platform front-and-center in the mainstream, giving their performers and opportunity to ply their craft on a national stage.
Loud Love is set to debut the music video for "Heavyweight" in June 2021, Co-Produced by Shotwell Productions & R3Stream, Inc in Association with Mission Pro Wrestling & TCBX Photography. The video was filmed in Forked River, New Jersey and was Directed by Rob Shotwell.
As of this writing, "Heavyweight" has been nominated for "Song of the Year" and "Rock Song of the Year" for Delaware Valley Public Radio's Hometown Heroes Radio Network 2021 Homey Awards.
